The Commission Chief Executive, Engr. Dr. Gbenga Komolafe, FNSE together with the Executive Commissioners; Dr. Kelechi Ofeogbu (CS&A), Engr. Amadasun Eronense (D&P), Mr. Jide Fasina (ER&SP) and Mr. Bashari Indabawa (E&AM) respectively paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu (SAN) on Monday, 19th February 2024.
Addressing the gathering the CCE expressed his delight in the warm reception accorded him and his team and informed the Chairman that the purpose of his visit was to familiarize himself and congratulate him over his appointment as the Chairman ICPC, as well as to wish him success in his new national assignment.
He reeled out some of the achievements of NUPRC within a period of 2 years and few months after the signing into law the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA). As a result of its regulatory roles in the upstream petroleum sector, there has been a significant increase in production volumes, transparency in hydrocarbon accounting, appreciable level of growth in Capex, predictability and certainty within the oil and gas industry space thereby boosting the confidence of investors. He stressed on the need to collaborate with ICPC in curbing leakages and prevention of corruption in the industry, in line with President Ahmed Tinubu’s administration mandate of improvement in the revenue generation to the Federation.
Responding, the Chairman of ICPC expresses his delight for the courtesy visit and congratulated the CCE over the many achievements within the short period. He maintained the ICPC’s willingness to collaborate with NUPRC in tackling the challenges of leakages and prevention of corruption in the industry. He thanked the CCE and his team for the visit.
