The Executive Council of the Nigerian Association for Energy Economics (NAEE) led by its President, Professor Wumi Iledare, recently paid a courtesy call on the Director of Petroleum Resources in Lagos. The visiting delegation was received by Engr. Antigha Ekaluo, Deputy Director and Head, Gas Division who represented Mr. Mordecai Ladan.
In his welcome remarks, the Director commended the Association for its efforts and contributions to the Nigerian Energy sector, and particularly in its longstanding collaborations with the DPR in our bid to improve and strengthen the regulation of the oil and gas sector in Nigeria in line with global best practices.
In his response, Professor Iledare laid emphasis on the important role the DPR plays in the Oil and Gas industry and by extension, the Energy sector of our economy. He reassured the Director of the Association’s support for the Department emphasizing that, the NAEE as a non-profit organization is the only Association with membership of energy experts in business, the academia and government institutions in Nigeria.
He used the opportunity of the visit to invite the Director and the Department to participate in the 10th NAEE anniversary conference with the theme “Energy, Economy and the Environment: The interplay of technology, economics and public policy” scheduled to hold April 23 – 26, 2017 at the PTDF Conference Center Abuja and promised to facilitate DPR’s corporate membership of the Association for the benefit of interested staff.
