The Commission Chief Executive Engr. Gbenga Komolafe appeared before the senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (UPSTREAM) under the Distinguished Chairmanship of Senator Etang Jonah Williams for an inaugural briefing on the state of affairs in the Nigeria Oil and Gas industry upstream.
The CCE who was in company of NUPRC Executive Commissioners informed the senate Committee that, Nigeria still plays a significant role in global energy dynamics hence the need for all hands to be on deck inline with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policy.
Engr. Komolafe affirmed that NUPRC is working with stakeholders to achieve sustainable production that will unlock the immense potential of the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry to meetup with domestic demands and export market opportunities.
In his presentation Engr. Komolafe emphasized that NUPRC’s collaboration with stakeholders is to promote sustainable production methods to meet up with domestic supply obligations and to deliver on government’s plan to generate revenue from export of locally refined petroleum products while also ensuring that operators in the industry adhere to guidelines and regulations as enshrined in the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021.
