President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving the government’s targets for the oil and gas sector in the coming year.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, at the official launch of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission’s project to increase oil production by an additional one million barrels per day, he highlighted the need for collective efforts from stakeholders, including government agencies, private companies, and industry leaders.
According to him, the government is focused on increasing Oil production while strengthening competitiveness in the industry. Despite expected challenges such as technical issues, market fluctuations, and regulatory hurdles, the government is confident that through cooperation, these obstacles can be overcome.
He added that the initiative is crucial for national development, and the government is urging stakeholders to work together to meet the set production goals within the specified timeline. The project aligns with broader national objectives, which include leveraging oil and gas resources for economic growth and pursuing diversification across various sectors.
The President also reiterated the government’s commitment to economic reforms aimed at ensuring that all Nigerians benefit from the country’s vast natural resources.
He further called for greater international cooperation to drive global interest in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and bolster the nation’s economic standing.
