Phase 2 Consultation with Stakeholders on Draft Regulations: Acreage Management (Drilling & Production) Regulations, Upstream Petroleum Environmental Regulations, Upstream Petroleum Environmental Remediation Fund Regulations, Upstream Petroleum Safety Regulations, Unitization Regulations, Upstream Petroleum Decommissioning & Abandonment Regulations, Frontier Fund Regulations.

The Commission Chief Executive Engr Gbenga Komolafe was represented by the Executive Commissioner, Health, Safety, Environment & Communities, Capt John Tonlagha who declared the plenary session open on a 3-day Consultation forum with relevant stakeholders. The event holding at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja had in attendance the Executive Commissioner, Exploration & Acreage Management Ms Rose Ndong, other Senior officials of the Commission and key stakeholders in the industry.

The plenary session was later collapsed into 3 syndicate groups to review the draft regulations accordingly.

It important to note that out of the 8 draft Regulations being reviewed by the Commission, the Host Communities Development Regulations has been duly approved and gazetted.
