The Commission Chief Executive, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe played host to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeye Enitan Ogunwusi (the Ooni of Ife) accompanied by His Majesty Alayeluwa Oba Adekunle Adeagbo,The (Oore of Otun Ekiti) and Paramount Ruler of Mobaland,Ekiti State, Ilufemiloye l. and other traditional chiefs who were part of the Ooni’s delegation.
The courtesy visit by the Ooni of Ife, was in demonstration of his support for the Commission Chief Executive and the Commission, for the wonderful interventions of the Federal Government in the implementation of the Host Community Development Trust (HCDT) and other interventions in the Nigerian oil and gas industry Upstream.
In his words, “customarily I do not visit dignitaries in their offices, but I am here today to demonstrate my support and endorsement of your Chief Executive and the entire staff of NUPRC, for the wonderful job you are doing for our country Nigeria”.
His Imperial Majesty prayed for the success of the Commission and peace for Nigeria. He encouraged the staff to show love to the less privileged especially during these challenging times.
The high point of the monarch’s visit was the presentation of a bronze edifice to the Commission Chief Executive, in recognition of his outstanding performance in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. Engr. Komolafe reciprocated the gesture by presenting His Imperial Majesty and delegation with recent copies of the Commission’s quarterly magazine, “Upstream Gaze”.
