The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) endorses the Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) of the Society of Petroleum Engineers Nigeria Council (SPENC).
The 3 day event which commenced today, up untill Wednesday 7th August 2019 has brought together major decision makers, Captains of Industry and Professionals to discuss comtemporary Oil and Gas issues in Nigeria.
The theme of the conference is “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, BIG DATA AND MOBILE TECHNOLOGY: CHANGING THE FUTURE OF THE ENERGY INDUSTRY.”
In his keynote address, the Ag. Director of Petroleum Resources Mr. Ahmad Rufai Shakur emphasised the importance of Technology and Big Data in decision making for the Nigerian Oil and Gas value chain.
The DPR showcased technological Innovations such as the Production and Export Administration System (PEAS) which includes; National Production Monitoring System (NPMS), Crude Oil and LNG Tracking to Final Destination (OGISP), Upstream Operations Administration System (UOAS) which also includes: Work Program Management System, Drilling and Completion Management System, Rig and Vessel Administration System and Value Monitoring and Benchmarking System (VMB) as major indicators for an efficient technologically driven regulatory Commission for the 21st Century.
The DPR prides itself as Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Regulator. The Department is also participating as an exhibitor in the ongoing conference.
