Chief Assam Ekanem Assam (SAN), Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation has advised foreign investors to avail themselves of the opportunities in Nigeria, reiterating that the country’s vast gas resources present enormous potentials. The Ambassador was speaking at the cocktail/dinner during the Nigeria’s Investment Night at the just concluded 21st World Petroleum Congress (WPC). The theme of the WPC 2014 annual global event was ‘Responsibly energizing a growing world’.
Dr. Attahir Yusuf, GED, Commerce & Investments NNPC, who represented the Mr. Andrew Yakubu, Group Managing Director, NNPC at the event, also advised foreign investors to explore the hydrocarbon potentials of Nigeria. He urged investors to take advantage of the conducive business environment in the country, stressing that “without a doubt, harnessing (Nigeria’s) gas resources with the right kind of foreign investment, will bring about unquantifiable value to our economy and…, (stimulate) growth and development”.
The Investment Night drew participants from WPC members and Russian local entrepreneurs most of who had earlier been to the country’s exhibition stands. They sought clarifications on Nigeria’s oil and gas potentials and the prevailing legislative and fiscal regimes in the country.
